Our workshop has had a busy period. Over the last few weeks, we fitted a total of 62 band brakes with our 9020 woven brake lining. The customer chose to vulcanise the lining to its shoes because of the high surface pressure to which the lining is exposed. This adhesive provides a stronger bond than mechanical securing with rivets. It is applied to both the lining and the metallic counter parts, after which they are placed in the oven to allow the adhesive to reach its full strength.
Intertech’s history with this customer dates to the middle of the 1980s, when it was a much smaller company than today, producing approximately 50 winches per year. Over the years, we have grown with them and supplied tens of thousands of brake sets for anchor, mooring and speciality winches. We look forward to continuing our cooperation in the future!
